February 11 The Winter Wonderland of Northern ArizonaHere are the pictures I promised...finally! Yep that is my son shoveling snow (middle picture). We got about 4 feet in 3 days! We are supposed to get more this weekend but not sure how much. I have no idea where we will put it since the snow piles on either side of the driveway are over 6 feet high! The reason our garage is a different color than our house...just in case you are wondering? Is because we just had it added on last month and it is still to cold to paint. We will be painting it to match the rest of the house this spring. Enjoy! :)
December 22 Merry Christmas!Just a quick hi and wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas! I hope that your New Year is filled with many blessings, happiness and joy! It has been a good year overall for us I'd have to say. I hope to post another entry tomorrow as it is late. God Bless You. :) August 31 July was a busy month! July was a productive month! I got a few more things done on my list. Christopher and I went to the dentist for cleanings. I helped Jim paint our laundry room. He did pretty much all of it but I did help a little bit. Christopher and I had our Ratatouille lunch. It ended up being really good and filling. A friend of his joined us and thought it was pretty cool too. I think we might do it again sometime. I have become somewhat addicted to the wheresgeorge.com website. I entered my 50th bill on 7-7-08 and I am still entering bills! I even ordered a couple of stamp to make marking the bills faster and easier. As of today I have 307 bills entered and have gotten 6 hits. Hits basically means that someone has found one of my bills that I entered marked and spent and they entered it at the website. I even have one bill that has been entered twice aka a double hitter! So far all my bills have been entered in Flagstaff and I am waiting for someone to enter one of my bills somewhere else besides Flagstaff. I would love to get one from another state too. Oh well I guess I will have to be patient! I have also signed up for 2 exchanges on the EMS board. I am doing a mini scissor fob exchange and a state bird or flower small item exchange for US residents on the board. I am doing well so far with stitching both items. I will take pictures of them before I send them and post them here after they are mailed out to my partner. I have entered the Coocnino County Fair again but not with cross stitch items. This year I am entering 3 pictures in the fine arts division of the fair. I will do a post with the pictures after they are framed and ready to go. I am also thinking about entering a couple of baked items in the home economics division but not sure what to enter yet. Well, that is about all for now. Like I said July has been productive and I hope that August will be too. April 13 EMS Rose Sampler SAL Here is a pic of the first three parts of the sampler. I have gotten a little behind but hope to catch up again. I didn't start part 4 until yesterday but did get a fair amount done. I hope to get more stitching done today. I am looking forward to having lots of stitching time on our up coming trip to Florida on Tuesday (4-15-08). I should be able to get lots done during the flights there and back. We are going to visit family and it should be fun. It will be nice to go on a trip with just my Honey. I don't think he and I have ever flown somewhere just the two of us before. We have always gone to places within driving distances when we have traveled without the kids. I am really looking forward to getting away with him. April 05 Northland Hospice Training Program Well, today was the first day for the Northland Hospice Training Program. I really enjoyed it. There are about 25 people in the group and then the leaders. Our first workout for the beginning running group was walking 3 minutes and running/jogging 2 minutes 6 times. I completed all the intervals only walking for about 5 - 10 seconds during the 3rd jogging time. I managed to keep up with the two leaders for our group pretty well along with about 5 other people. I will take tomorrow off and then will do the next training intervals on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday this week. March 29 Spanish Sampler Mystery SAL Here is a picture of my little bit of progress on this project. I took the picture on 3-29-08. I will post another picture when it is finished. I am stitching it on 18ct light oatmeal fiddlers cloth with DMC 890. Enjoy! February 23 The Princess & the Pea! What is it with cats and clean laundry! Here is a pic of my kitty laying on the freshly folded towels. I had one folded and she decided that was where she wanted to sit. So, with each towel I then folded after that I picked her up and placed it on the pile and then put her back on top of the towels. She just laid down each time I put her back down. So, I had to snap this picture of her since she kinda reminds me of the story The Princess & the Pea. We also have a stack of blankets in the living room that she loves to lay on as well. Go figure! February 03 #22 and #62 #22 We are registered as Crew members for the San Diego 3 Day event. We still have to receive our crew assignments. Hopefully we will here something later on this month as to what we will be doing. Our first choice was to drive a sweep van which goes around picking up walkers along the route that can't make it to the next pitstop. I don't think we will get to do this since it is the most requested assignment and many people registered for the event well before us. They work on a first come first served basis. So, our second choice was to check in walkers as they come into the campsite each day at the end of the route. We would also be helping them get out on the route in the morning too. We really want to do something together throughout the event. #62 My Honey and I took our first trip together just the two of us. We went to Laughlin, NV and stayed at the Colorado Belle. We had a really good time and spent most of our time playing the penny slot machines. We definitely came back with less money than we went with. However, we had a really good time just spending time together. January 31 Cold Morning! It is a bit chilly here this morning! It is about -5degrees(F). The pictures are of my kitchen window taken at about 8:15am. Yes, that is ICE on the INSIDE of our window! BBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just thought you all might enjoy the pics. January 01 Items #52 and #84 Done! First things first, Happy New Year to all! Today was a productive day. I got 2 things marked off my list. I got my desk drawers cleaned out. Let me tell you that was a pretty big project and I am more than happy to say it is done! Also, my Honey fixed the brake bar on Nicole's wheelchair for me. Thank you Honey! I also have a couple of the cross stitch magnets done that I am giving to ladies in my Bible study group. There are two with birthdays this month. I just need to pick up the little picture magnet frames tomorrow to finish them off. It is such a great feeling to be able to cross things off a list! WooHoo! December 31 My To Do List The Mission: Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days. The Criteria: Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part). Why 1001 Days? Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities. Okay, so this list is a little longer than your average to do list! Yes, there really are 101 things on this list. No, I haven't lost my mind! ( At least I hope not.) Anyway I decided it would be fun to give this a whirl and participate in the 101 things in 1001 days challenge. So, here is my list of 101 things. They aren't in any particular order. They are just listed as I came up with them. I thought about arranging them in groups but that became difficult since some fall into more than one group. I will change the lettering to red for completed items and there will be a date after the item. If the item is in blue then it is in progress. Otherwise it will be in black if I haven't gotten the item done yet. I will also be posting blog entries about most of the items as they are completed. My start date is 1-1-08 and my end date is 9-28-10. So, I hope you will check back often to see what kind of progress I am making on my list. Enjoy! 1) Finish Trails End cross stitch & frame 2) Stitch SOS magnets for each person’s birthday in Bible study group (2/12) 3) Design/Post 5 blackwork projects (0/5) 4) Design/Post 5 more blackwork projects (0/5) 5) Stitch at least ½ of my blackwork designs (1/10) (2-21-08) 6) Participate in at least 2 EMS exchanges per year that require stitching something. December 16 DS playing guitar Here is a video my son Christopher posted of him and his friend Tony playing at a coffee house where we live. This was a couple weeks ago. Their guitar class did an open jam there. Sorry the video is really shaky since I am the one holding the camera and it was up almost over my head. There are people talking in the crowd since there were people that were just hanging out and not there for the guitar class. They are performing again tomorrow night as part of their final. I will record them again and hope to find away to prop the camera on something so it wont be shaky. Anyway I hope you all enjoy the video. (My DS is the one on the left in the green shirt.) By the way this is an original song that they wrote. They normally play it with electric guitars but the acoustic version is pretty good too! Christmas Light VideoHere is a favortie video from YouTube. We were emailed this last year during the Christmas season andthought it was soooo cool. Christopher (DS) and I went to see Trans Siberian Orchestra on November17,2007 and they did a spectacular show! If you ever get a chance to see them all I can say is "GO!". You wont be disappointed. This is set to their song "Wizards in Winter". Enjoy! December 13 Look who's under our Christmas tree! This was the first time our kitty got under the Christmas tree this year. Our tree is only about 4ft tall and has fiber optic things all over it that change color. It is sitting on top of a small table that we covered with a sheet. So, there wasn't much room for her to lay down but she managed to find a little spot. :) Our dumb kitty(yes, that is what we really call her) loves Christmas time. She likes to sit on the packages and on Christmas morning she likes to play with the wrapping paper. She also jumps in and out of the empty boxes. She has great fun. :) December 12 Blue SkyWe have blue sky. It stopped snowing yesterday afternoon. The kids had a regular day of school today. Thank you to all of you who have visited from the EMS board and made such nice comments about my new blog. :) December 11 We have more snow!It is still snowing and it is coming down BIG time. We have about 18 inches so far and I think it is supposed to snow for the better part of the day. The kids are on their 2nd snow day in a row and both are still sleeping. If it stops snowing long enough we will build a snowman. I will post pics of him if we get one built. We are just going to have a quiet day at home otherwise enjoying being snowed in! WOOHOO! Let it snow! December 10 SnowWe finally have snow! It started on Saturday morning and it has been snowing on and off since then. The kids have the day off from school due to the snow. So, we are having a kickback morning and I have been updating my page with pics. As you can tell I am not real great at keeping this up often since I started this blog back in February and this is olny my second entry! Oh well. Enjoy the new pics. I will try to be a little better about adding stuff more often but....don't count on it! LOL! :) February 20 First Blog EntryWell, here it is....my first blog entry! WooHoo.
So far there isn't much to this page but I will continue to add to it when I can. Take a look at my cross stitch album and some of my favorite links.
Enjoy! |
